2.Uso
|---|---|
| In November, I will have been working at my company for two months. |
Agora é só setembro. Quero destacar a continuidade dessa minha conquista futura. |
| At five o'clock, I will have been waiting for two hours!
| When I turn twelve, I will have been playing guitar for five years. |
Tenho 10 anos agora e toco violão há três anos. Quero destacar a continuidade dessa minha conquista futura. |
| I'll have been teaching for twenty years this summer. |
Tenho muito orgulho de ser professor! Quero enfatizar a duração da atividade. |
| When the train arrives, they will have been travelling for 8 hours.

Por exemplo: "By June, I will have been living in London for ten years." Você se imagina nesse ponto futuro e olha para trás, para a duração da atividade: "At five o'clock, she will have been waiting for two hours."
Por exemplo: "By noon, I will have been working for six hours." Não omita have nem o -ing: diga "will have been working", e não "will been working" ou "will have been work". A negativa usa won't have been ("She won't have been working here for a full year"), e a pergunta coloca will antes do sujeito: "How long will you have been studying English by June?"
Compare "By 6 PM, I will have written the report" (estará pronto) com "By 6 PM, I will have been writing the report for five hours" (a duração do trabalho). Use o Future Perfect para quantidades: "will have read 20 books", e não "will have been reading 20 books". Verbos de estado (state verbs) ficam na forma simples: "By May, we will have known each other for ten years."
É correto dizer "Next year I will be working here for ten years" em vez do Future Perfect Continuous?
Não, diga "Next year I will have been working here for ten years": o Future Perfect Continuous conta o tempo até um ponto no futuro. "I will be working here for ten years" é o Future Continuous e sugere dez anos a partir de agora. Traduzir palavra por palavra "vou estar trabalhando aqui há dez anos" leva a esse erro: em inglês, essa contagem pede will have been. Então diga "By the time she retires, she will have been teaching for 40 years", e não "she will be teaching for 40 years".
