Future Perfect

Par exemple : « I will have finished the project by Friday ». Il s'emploie souvent avec by : by then, by next June, by the time you arrive. Il peut aussi compter une durée jusqu'à un point du futur (« By December, she will have worked here for five years ») ou exprimer une certitude sur l'achèvement : « He will certainly have left by the time we get there ».

Future Perfect ou Future Simple : « I will cook dinner » ou « I will have cooked dinner » ?

Les deux sont corrects : le Future Simple dit ce qui va se passer, le Future Perfect que ce sera déjà fait. Comparez « When you get home, I will cook dinner » (je commence à cuisiner après votre arrivée) et « By the time you get home, I will have cooked dinner » (le dîner est prêt quand vous arrivez). Avec by, le Future Simple est aussi possible (« I will finish it by Friday »), mais le Future Perfect insiste sur l'achèvement.

Peut-on dire « She will has finished » au Future Perfect ?

Non, on dit « She will have finished » : will, puis have pour tous les sujets, puis le participe passé (past participle). N'employez ni -ing ni la base verbale (base form) après have : « He will have completed it », et non « He will have completing it » ou « He will have complete it ». Les verbes irréguliers prennent leur troisième forme : « They will have gone », et non « They will have went ». La négation emploie won't have (« They won't have arrived by noon ») et la question commence par will : « Will she have finished by then? »

« By the time you arrive » ou « by the time you will arrive » avec le Future Perfect ?

On dit « by the time you arrive » : le Present Simple suit by the time, le Future Perfect dans la principale (main clause). Par exemple : « By the time you arrive, we will have eaten », et non « By the time you will arrive, we will have eaten ». Le français dit « quand tu arriveras », au futur, mais l'anglais refuse will dans cette subordonnée. La même règle vaut après before et when : « I will have left before you get there ».

Future Perfect ou Past Perfect : « will have finished » ou « had finished » ?

Le Future Perfect (will have finished) regarde en arrière depuis un moment futur, le Past Perfect (had finished) depuis un moment passé. Comparez « By next June, she will have finished her degree » (juin est encore à venir) et « By last June, she had finished her degree » (juin est passé). Ne mélangez pas les deux formes : « She will had finished » est incorrect, car will est toujours suivi de have.
