Present Perfect

|---|---|

at any time today en cualquier momento de hoy |
| He has run 20 miles. Ha corrido 20 millas. |

( lately, recently, for + period of time, all one's life, since + a point in time, all day/night/week, etc. ).
| Ejemplo | Comentario |
|---|---|
| I have lived here for 2 years. Vivo aquí desde hace 2 años. |
I still live here. Sigo viviendo aquí. |
| We have waited all day. Llevamos todo el día esperando. |
We are still waiting. Seguimos esperando. |

3.Trucos
3.1to Be In / To
| Ejemplo | Comentario |
|---|---|
| She has been in the library all day long. Lleva todo el día en la biblioteca. |
She is now in the library. Ahora está en la biblioteca. |
| I've been in the room for 2 hours. Llevo 2 horas en la habitación. |
I am still here, in this room. Sigo aquí, en esta habitación. |
| I've been in Paris for a week. Llevo una semana en París. |
I arrived in Paris a week ago and I am now in Paris Llegué a París hace una semana y ahora estoy en París |
Ya has estado allí y has seguido adelante.
| Ejemplo | Comentario |
|---|---|
| She has been to the library twice. Ha estado dos veces en la biblioteca. |
past completed visit, experience. She is not in the library now. visita terminada en el pasado, experiencia. No está ahora en la biblioteca. |
| I' ve been to the room many times. He estado muchas veces en esa habitación. |
I am not in the room now. No estoy ahora en la habitación. |

things which are expected but which have not happened cosas que se esperan pero que no han ocurrido |
|
| Interrogativa ? | Has your brother finished school yet? ¿Ya ha terminado el colegio tu hermano? |
I expect that lo doy por hecho |
| Interrogativa ? | Has your brother already finished school? He's only 17! ¿Tu hermano ya ha terminado el colegio? ¡Solo tiene 17 años! |
I'm surprised if your brother has finished school. I did not expect it to happen until later.

Por ejemplo: "I've been to Paris twice" (experiencia), "I've bought a new car" (noticia), "Have you seen him today?" (el día aún no ha terminado) y "I have lived here for two years" (sigo viviendo aquí). Cuando das detalles de cuándo o cómo, pasa al Past Simple: "I've bought a new car. I bought it on Monday."
El Present Perfect se forma con have o has más el participio pasado (past participle): "I have finished", "She has finished". Usa has con he, she e it, y have con I, you, we y they. Los verbos regulares añaden -ed ("We have worked"), y los irregulares usan su tercera forma: "She has eaten", no "She has ate". Para la negativa, usa haven't o hasn't: "He hasn't seen it." Para preguntar, pon have o has delante del sujeto (subject): "Have you called him yet?"
For o since con el Present Perfect: ¿cuál es la diferencia?
Usa for con una duración ("for five years") y since con el punto de partida ("since 2020"). Así que di "I have lived here for five years", no "I have lived here since five years" ni "I live here for five years". For responde a "How long?" (for two hours, for ages), y since, a "From when?" (since Monday, since November). I've made many friends since I moved here."
Been to o been in: ¿qué diferencia hay en el Present Perfect?
"Been to" un lugar significa que lo visitaste y volviste; "been in" significa que estuviste allí un tiempo, a menudo hasta ahora. Compara "She has been to Paris three times" (ahora no está allí) con "She has been in Paris for a week" (sigue allí). Con been in se suele decir cuánto tiempo: "They've been in the office all day."
Por ejemplo: "I have already read the book", "She's just arrived" y "The bus hasn't come yet." Has your brother finished school yet?" En español preguntamos con "ya", pero en inglés la pregunta neutra lleva yet; already en una pregunta muestra sorpresa: "Has he already finished school? He's only 17!"
